5 out of 5 stars Relaxing respite from vuvuzela trumpets!   June 13, 2010
C. S. Walker (Rugby, UK)
Had mixed thoughts about buying this - very contrasting reviews!

Have had about 5 hours playing time with it now and I love it...

Hilariously, in small print on the back of the CD-ROM packaging comes the warning "Basic reading ability is needed to fully enjoy this game".

Not quite sure how you could possibly play this game at all without an ability to read!

This is because all the character dialogue is written out and not spoken.

Initially this was a major disappointment, but soon got used to it and found the 'cartoony' qualities of the graphics to be a delight.

When I say 'cartoony', that is not meant to demean the quality in any way - the sound and picture of the gentle waves lapping on the beach of nineball island looks and sounds great in 480p.

Story is enough of a challenge to make it worthwhile following - and quite educational in its own quirky way! I'm sure there will be many, many hours of pleasure left in this game just exploring once the main story is complete.

Played this game tonight in preference to watching the World Cup football - far more relaxing than those wretched vuvuzela trumpets!

This game is really relaxing and a huge step forward from the previous version.
Would recommend highly

5 out of 5 stars Relaxing, beautiful, fun   May 25, 2010
R. Dalgliesh (Scotland)
Quite possibly the biggest 'easter egg' hunt I've ever come across on any platform. No real plot, action, peril, etc but lovely to lose yourself in for a while. With simple controls simply _made_ for the Wii that do not distract from play.

It's difficult to explain to 'hardcore gamers' who love their twitch gaming and relentless stimulus but this game is slow, relaxing, beautiful and fun to explore and... mildly educational(!).

Without a doubt, one of my favourite titles on the Wii.

2 out of 5 stars Great concept, but too many stops and starts   May 10, 2010

I agree with the reviewer Scandelius totally. I was so looking forward to getting this game as I had heard so many good things about it, but the game play is MAJORLY hampered by the constant stopping and starting of the narrative - in other words, you repeatedly have to go through certain dialogues and "video scenes" in order to progress through the game. The overall effect is a bit like Groundhog day: some scenes just can't be skipped and have to be relived again and again. No doubt some people might not mind this, but I found it so offputting that I actually sent the game back to Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Endless Ocean 2   April 25, 2010

We have the 1st Endless Ocean and that is brilliant. My children love using the game. The 2nd one is equally as good. Great graphics and very interesting. The children are playing with it but don't realise they are learning also.
