venom gun June 10, 2010 G. Thomson (Fife) Excellent peripheral. Already have a HOTD hand cannon and, while not quite as fun, this is every bit as good. I'll no longer be ashamed to offer guests some ropey piece of tat from argos when teaming up. Highly recommended.
Comfortable, sturdy gun for long-term use with Wii April 17, 2010 Mr. T. E. Rousham (Suffolk, UK) This gun has barely left my hand since it arrived just over a week ago.
My hand may have long since seized up and shaped itself perfectly to the shape of the gun, but it must be said that due to its ergonomic design - particularly the moulded grip which so many Wii light guns lack - this gun fitted my hand perfectly from the outset.
It is not too heavy, yet - with the controller inside - weighty enough to not feel like a cheap toy.
The trigger has a good amount of resistance but not to a (less fun) realistic degree which would make it impossible to repeatedly pump handgun rounds into enemies at absurd rates when required.
The only complaints I have are:
1. During games such as the Resident Evil rail-shooters which involve shaking the controller to "dodge", every now and then the controller does break loose of the gun if shaken too vigorously. To be fair I have since learnt how to effectively shake the controller so that such force is unnecessary, but one cannot always remember this when cornered by 30 zombies!
2. Although most games employ substitute buttons on the nunchuck - which IS compatible! - occasionally you do have to press a button or two on the controller (on top of the gun) which is irritating and awkward, although certainly not a flaw unique to this gun.
3. The colour, why does everything have to be white?!
Overall, I believe that this is the best light gun currently on offer and would highly recommend it to any fan of shooters on the Wii.
Venom Wii Gun Review March 26, 2010 Matteo Guido Mazza The delivery of this product was very quick and well packed. The Venom Wii gun was as expected. Good construction.
Better than the Perfect Shot March 23, 2010 M@rtin (Peterborough, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just received this from Indigostarfish and it's the updated version with space for the Motion Plus attachment and no nunchuck port at the base of the grip, so you connect the nunchuck directly to the Wiimote/motionplus and there's a groove down the grip for the nunchuck cable. I prefer this to the Nyko Perfect Shot because the grip is thinner and more contoured, therefore it's more comfortable to hold, esp. for smaller hands. Also the Wiimote sits further back, which means the centre of gravity is closer to your hand, so it's less tiring to hold. Also the Venom gun has both front & rear sights, unlike the Perfect Shot which just has a rear sight. The trigger on the Venom is also nicer and feels quicker/easier to pull. Overall it's the best handgun-style gun peripheral that I've used!
Venom Light Blaster February 27, 2010 Ishidaifusan (Stratford upon Avon, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I spent ages checking out the different guns you can use to play Call of Duty on the Wii and I chose this one because all the reasonably priced two handed ones have the trigger on the forward handle which is not realistic. The Gun holds the Wii remote firmly and there is a hole at the back to allow the nunchuk to be connected. There is a groove running down the back of the pistol grip to hold the nunchuk cable which I found to be useless and not neccessary anyway. The gun is well balanced and comfortable to hold. The trigger works well but I found it awkward to reach any of the buttons on top of the Wii remote (to throw grenades etc.) but this is common to most Wii guns.
