Its good for chatting.You can use it on game (eg. Animal Crossing Lets Go to the city).If you have added someone to your wii address book you need to download "The wii speak channel" so that you can send voice messages between each other.

Wanted to use it for Monster Hunter, but the sound quality wasn't great, and in the end using a keyboard during gameplay was far more reliable.
Used it once, and haven't touched it since.

I use the Wii speak for Monster Hunter Tri and I find it almost impossible to understand what others are saying. A waste of time and money in my opinion.

I bought this because I got fed up trying to type to my friends when they visited me on Animal Crossing, and I just wish I'd bought it months ago. It makes gameplaying so much easier.
It's great! It's a bit bizarre talking to the TV, but you can hear really clearly. You and the person you are talking to can hear anyone else who's in the room, so make sure you don't have anyone making any embarassing noises because your friends will hear everything!
It's brilliant to be able to talk to my friends - better than making phone calls - and with the Wii Speak channel, you can open a conversation room and talk to several people - if they have it too and you've swopped friend codes.
You need to find the right volume - too high and you can get some echo or feedback, but I don't have a problem because I have the TV volume set correctly.
It's easy to use - you just stand the mic on top of the TV and plug the other end into the Wii - that's it!
I recommend this if you are thinking of getting Animal Crossing and wifing with friends, and I hope they make more games that will be able to use Wii Speak.
