Product Description Dive into tropical waters and discover the life aquatic, a life of nature, beauty and intrigue. In Endless Ocean, you are the guest of a tranquil sea filled with creatures so unique they must be experienced up-close. More of an experience than a game of any sort, Endless Ocean gives you the freedom to explore underwater locations, searching for fish to photograph and place in your log, or simply take a relaxing swim among the inhabitants of the sea. You'll be able to directly interact with some species, using the Wii Remote to touch members of the undersea community. Come face-to-face with such animals as angelfish, penguins, walruses and dolphins. Whilst underwater, you can even find lost ruins and secret diving locations. The Wii Remote's pointer capabilities are used to navigate through most of the game, whether it's directing the ship to a location on a map or directing the diver which way to swim. When you want to interact with ocean life, you'll simply point at it and then press the A Button. In addition to searching your vast waters, you can share Friend Codes with a friend and explore his or her sea via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. Dive together and share in an adventure like no other.

Beautiful Game July 8, 2010 Stacey Thomas This is one of the most relaxing and emotive games I have ever played. If you are thinking about buying this you need to realise it's not supposed to be action-packed but soothing while educational. The graphics are amazing! You really feel like you are there. I went from wanting to cry when I was with the whales and dolphins (so lovely) to nearly pooping myself when I was diving in the abyss (accompanied by scary music!)
I love to play this after coming home from the rush at work. Much better than my brains turning to mush watching TV. It is addictive as well.
Would highly recommend this game to anyone!!
Schmaltzy but satisfying June 24, 2010 GJ Schaap Gave this a try after noticing that the sequel is highly-acclaimed on the Nintendo-channel (and after seeing it in the Bargain-bin, what luck!!!). This seems an odd title at first, what with the schmaltzy Enya-esque soundtrack, dolphins and penguins for playmates (!) and the fact that you cannot get hurt at all in the game (sharks are weirdly meek and mild for some reason). It depends really on your state-of-mind, but after a bit of play I found it to be a wonderful way to relax and take a break from the normal murdering and mayhem of the rest of my Wii library. The interface is really simple while maintaining a nice visual flair (loading screens look really lovely, love the fade-effect when opening your journal or encyclopedia). The controls are simplicity itself, with all action control via the Wii IR pointer in either third or first person (if you prefer). Exploring the underwater world is oddly addictive and challenging, but only challenging in the fact that there is a lot to explore and several tasks to complete. The underwater environments are quite realistic, with some slick lighting effects and realistic animations for the fish and other sea creatures you encounter. Truthfully the illusion is spoilt a little bit by the stiff character models and some crappy above-water graphics, but considering that this is merely the hub from where to launch your underwater adventures, this lack in polish is not of great concern. But take note that if you like your gaming action to be of the linear format, you might be put off a bit by Endless Ocean's focus on chilling out and progressing at your own pace (some might call this a lack of direction, but if that really bothers you, just sit back in the deck chair on your yacht and enjoy the view until it passes. No really, you can do this in the game. Bizarre). All and all a fun and relaxing diversion from the usual fare, if you can stomach a bit of schmaltz now and again...
Endless Ocean January 31, 2010 Paul Campbell (newton) This is a cracking little game, the opposite of all those mad shoot em ups if you need something a bit more mellow. There are a couple of minor glitches. For instance, the controls can be a bit hard to grasp at first. Also, the girl on the boat can get a bit annoying and repetitive; if you click to chat to her at times she just says the same thing. There isn't much interaction from your character to hers, apart from the odd yes or no to certain aspects to the gameplay. Also, maybe its just me but if she's talking would be good to see her mouth moving. In addition, when you take guests diving they can also be a bit naggy if in the first few strokes you haven't found the fish they're most looking forward to seeing. The main flaw though is probably the fact that its a single player game apart from on line. Seems strange they couldn't make it two player compatitable if they can do it online. That said, they whole experience of exploring the deep is one to relish. Some of the music tracks are pretty atmospheric as well, and can add a real sense of magic when you swim roud the corner and discover something new and breathtaking. I'm looking forward to spotting my first great white and moving on to the new realease with relish.
Wonderful underwater world! January 23, 2010 Dr. R. J. Dawber (UK) Sheer delight. I just cant stop playing this game, it is my all time favourite. Relaxing, dare i say educational, and a huge amount of fun. I have played for over 26 hours and there is still more to discover, Cant wait for endless ocean 2! :-) Buy it!
Amazing game! October 26, 2009 Y. Jones (Barnstaple, Devon, UK) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this game as I had read good reviews about it being relaxing to play etc; I have a stressful job (who doesn't?!) and really wanted something to help me chill out at the end of the day and this didn't disappoint. The first thing you notice when you load the game is the music - I'm not a fan of Hayley Westenra at all but the music fitted so nicely into the game. It doesn't play all the time, so you get to experience the very realistic sound of being underwater and hearing your character's own breathing underwater. You also get to swim with dolphins and train them, you get set assignments, species to find and you get requests from people wanting you to take them on a dive. The other good thing about this is that you are never in any danger, so while that is potentially a little unrealistic, it's not a bad thing, so you can swim around knowing that you're not suddenly going to get harpooned or attacked by a shark etc as would happen with other games. If your air supply runs low, your diving session automatically ends. Not the most exciting of games for anyone who likes shoot em ups, but it's great way to relax and unwind, highly recommended to anyone who wants a bit of escapism!
